    His masterpiece El Gran Espectaculo (The Nile) (1983), which he painted when he was just 22 years old, depicts symbols of African culture with references to Ancient Egypt and has resided in the collection of Italian fashion designer Valentino Garavani for nearly two decades. The work is expected to sell for around $45m.
