Square Mile Watch Awards In Association With Red Eight Gallery
Square Mile magazine has just announced the winners of this year’s Watch Awards which was proudly sponsored this year by Red Eight Gallery. Competition was particularly stiff this year with the longest ever shortlist in the history of the awards. Here’s our pick of this year’s winners which are as much exquisite works of art as gorgeous timepieces.

THE ICON: Rolex Submariner
“Oh-so Rolex – the most minor of adjustments has made the world of difference,” the judging panel concluded. “Predictably perhaps, it is unbeatable in this category.”

WATCH OF THE YEAR WINNER & READERS’ CHOICE: Vacheron Constantin Overseas Perpetual Calendar Ultra-thin Skeleton
“Quite simply one of the most technically brilliant watches of the year, as well as being stunningly beautiful and ultimately wearable.”

EDITOR’S CHOICE & BEST HERITAGE WATCH: Audemars Piguet [Re]Master1 Selfwinding Chronograph

SPIRIT OF INDEPENDENCE: Greubel Forsey
“There are a number of great independent watchmakers, but messrs Greubel and Forsey are helping keep the actual craft alive.”
At Red Eight Gallery we understand watchmaking as a modern art form which is why we’re delighted to have been the headline sponsor for this year’s Square Mile Watch Awards.
